HISTORY

11th Hour Theatre Company was first envisioned by Michael Philip O'Brien and Steve Pacek, native Philadelphians, who met at Ithaca College. In 2003, these young actors, while living in New York City realized their aspirations in theatre reached far beyond performing alone. They both had a desire to start their own company and produce material that would expand and challenge the traditional boundaries of musical theatre. As they were well aware that the theatre community in Philadelphia was booming, Michael and Steve made the decision to move back to their home town. Sensing that it would be the perfect environment for them to generate new and innovative works, they produced a small cabaret in August of 2003 with Michael's sister Megan Nicole O'Brien, who was in her last semester at Philadelphia's University of the Arts. After great response and a successful run, in November of 2003, Michael, Steve and Megan founded 11th Hour Theatre Company.

In the past four years we have produced four critically acclaimed musicals: The World Goes Round; the Bomb-itty of Errors; tick, tick...BOOM!; and I Sing! 11th Hour has also produced two original musicals for the Philadelphia Fringe Festival (the American premiere of Austentatious and the Philadelphia premiere of Six of One) and a world premiere ten minute musical (Angst) for the Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia's first annual Philadelphia Spark Festival.
